Young Life begins in Piqua, OH

In the fall of 1982, a group of caring Christian adults From a diverse background began to pursue a Christian organization that could come in and share the gospel with the local high schools. These adults had never heard of Young Life. One of the adults, a school administrator was in Columbus at a prayer meeting and was introduced to the regional director of Young Life at that time. This was the beginning of the pursuit of Young Life in the Miami County area. In the fall of 1983 the area hired its first Young Life staff person.
